If you ever find yourself stranded in a North Africa desert don’t lose hope – others have faced similar challenges and succeeded. Alone with just his own MacGyverability, a busted ass Citroen, and a disturbing set of Speedo’s; Frenchman Emile Leray did the impossible by converting his Deux Chevaux into a operational desert sled. But even more compelling was his ability to convert his socks into sleeves and his steering wheel cover into drawers. From Emile’s own website the following loosely summarize his achievements;
“It has enough food and water to take a seat, and he made a decision to say the least astonishing: from the wreck, it will build a two-wheeler! The next morning, he begins to dismantle the 2CV, first removing the shell it will use as a shelter against the cool nights and sandstorms. Against the burning sun, with no long-sleeved shirts, it manufactures sleeves with a pair of socks.”
